KENNETH IZE X KARL LAGERFELD UNVEIL SS21 COLLABORATION

Kenneth Ize and KARL LAGERFELD have finally unveiled their collaborative capsule collection first announced in June 2020.

Curated by Carine Roitfeld and designed by Hun Kim for the Spring/Summer 2021 season, the range is a combination of Nigerian and European styles with bold prints accompanying clean silhouettes. Arriving in gender-neutral styles, the collection – which uses ethically sourced fabrics from Nigeria – is led by black-and-white checkerboard patterns on trousers, shirts and skirts, while multicolored stripes take over a series of knit garments. The lineup further introduces suits with contrasting color themes as well as simple tees adorned with Kenneth Ize and KARL LAGERFELD’s logos.

“This was such an incredible experience. It allowed me to play with the brand’s existing style codes and expand my own approach to design. I hope the public falls in love with the result,” Kenneth Ize comments on the partnership, as Roitfeld adds: “I’m certain that Karl would have loved the collection and its exploration of color and culture.”
